The Bahamas Web Awards recognizes outstanding web sites in
7 final categories. A web site may be entered into multiple categories if appropriate. Sites entered into multiple categories will be reviewed separately for each category entered. Web sites entered into more than one category may win multiple awards.

* In order to support a vibrant web community, the charitable-organization, personal and student web site categories may be entered for $15.
Category
Definitions
Art, Culture and Music
Sites primarily to display or promote art of any medium, visual artists, such as painting, photography, graphic design, web design, art galleries, art auctions or content focused on the art world. Sites for museums, zoos, gardens and any other institutions of cultural significance. Also, sites dedicated to the distribution and/or presentation of music or musical information.
Civic * / Community / Religion
Civic sites are those created for charities and charitable organizations that are cause-oriented or non-profit and whose primary purpose is helping people or other worthy causes.
Community sites facilitate an online community, connectedness and/or communication around shared interests.
Sites in the Religion category focus on the spirit or the soul, evangelizing spiritual practice, celebrating
God(s) or any other divine power - traditional or otherwise.
Education
Sites that are educational, promote education, or provide online curriculum or education services. Also, sites for schools (high school, secondary school, elementary school), specialty school, technical school, colleges, universities and other schools.

Personal * / Student *
Personal sites
designed and created as personal home pages with no
commercial goals. The site could be designed and created
by a professional or an amateur, but must be considered
a home page with no connection to any business,
government or civic organizations. Student
designed sites are designed and produced by persons who are
currently enrolled in high school, college or
university. The Web site could have any theme, but must have been created by a
Bahamian citizen or resident, either studying at home
(in The Bahamas) or abroad.
Professional / Retail
Sites for professional service firms including consultants of any type, accountants and other business service providers.
Sites created for businesses that provide retail sales of any products or services, including automobiles, computers, household products, furniture, etc.
Real Estate
Sites marketing or promoting the sale or rental of residential or
commercial real estate, including real estate developments.
Tourism
Websites that promote Bahamas travel and tourism, specific travel activities or promotional and informational tourism websites. Includes
sites created for hotels, resorts, vacation rentals and other hospitality or accommodation
facilities. Also, air travel, boat charters, excursions, tourist attractions, tourism
organizations and travel agencies.
