Semi-Finals
Using the five criteria, the judges will narrow down the screened entries to three (3) semi-finalists per category. A group of semi-finals judges assigned by the organizers will evaluate all entries for this stage. They include Web developers, designers, and artists. They are assigned categories that they are familiar with. Judges are required to submit a list of sites that they are personally or professionally affiliated with to avoid any conflict of interest.
The average of the scores of each set of judges assigned to a common category will be taken. The top
three (3) for each category that meet the minimum average score, i.e., twenty-one (21), will be declared the semi-finalists (it is possible then to have less than three semi-finalists in a category). In case of a tie for third place, the judges will be asked to arrive at a consensus.
Before the list of semi-finalists is announced, however, the organizers may choose to practice their prerogative to make final changes in the initial set of
categories. Some categories may have too few qualified candidates, and these categories may either be merged with a related category or removed altogether. Other categories may be split into additional categories.
The top three semi-finalists in each category will move on to the finals stage.
All websites qualify for the People's Choice
Awards.
Finals
Judges for the finals have been carefully chosen by the organizers. They include media practitioners, Web developers, artists, tourism professionals, and experts in their respective fields. The chosen
judges are required to submit a list of sites that they are personally or professionally affiliated with to avoid any conflict of interest. The judges are selected for their expertise in their fields.
Previous scores of the finalists will be disregarded. The judges will independently rate - based on our
criteria - the finalists in their assigned categories. The scores
will be tallied by our auditors. In case of a tie for first place, the judges will be asked to arrive at a consensus. The finalist that garners the highest score in each category will be declared the
Category Winner.
The site that receives the highest overall score is the winner of the Best
of The Bahamas Award.
